Our organisation has been in existence for over 50 years.
Formerly the Presteigne Chamber of Trade, the decision was taken to rebrand as Presteigne Connect in 2015, to make the organisation's reach broader and feel more inclusive for traders and non-traders alike.
Our views are often expressed to local authorities, national bodies and our A.M. and M.P. and Presteigne Connect is seen by Powys County Council as a valuable point of contact with the local business community.
We also have close links with the local press and the tourist information office. Indeed, in our former guise as The Chamber of Trade, we were responsible for the original Town Guides, this in turn brought about the launch of the Town's Tourism Project and website (of which we are one of the 6 founding partners) and the re-launch of the revised and complementary Town Guide and Town Trail which have been invaluable over the years in bringing visitors to Presteigne and engaging them during their stay.
Connect provides a platform for members to air their views at our monthly meetings where all current projects are discussed and decisions voted upon by members present. Non-members are more than welcome to attend any of Connect's meetings to understand our processes and learn of any current and future projects that we are planning.
In addition to the annual Food & Flower Festival and Christmas Fayre, which you can find out more about here, we also manage the Presteigne Recycling site which benefits traders and residents alike.
We are always open to new ideas and, as mentioned above, would welcome you at our meetings which occur on the first Tuesday of every month.
